Package Delivered To My Address Wrong Name. The sender was the sister of a woman who lived in my neighborhood who had a very similar address but was a few streets away. My wife & recently moved and are selling our old house.
While that thread was about mail delivered to the wrong address my issue is with mail delivered to the right address but the wrong recipient. When i looked closely at it i realized that the recipient's name wasn't mine nor anyone else in my house (wife and children) in fact the recipient has never lived at this. Today, when i reached work, there was a package from amazon.com (ups shipping) with my workplace address but different person's name.
How to Address an Envelope/Package
This is perhaps the most effective way of getting back your package after an incorrect delivery. This shouldn't cost you anything or inconvenience you in any way. If i were to receive a piece of mail addressed to someone who does not live at my address, i would slash through the name and indicate unk (unknown) and return it to the post office for them to return to sender. Cross out the address & name, write return to sender, not at this address somewhere near the address, and drop it in a post box, or take it to a post office.
